  1. I have never played before... How do I get started? 

    • Free beginner lessons are offered by RAPA throughout the year.  Check the schedule for times and places.

  2. How much does it cost to play? 

    • Please come and play and if you love the game, we encourage you to join RAPA. The fee is minimal... $25.00 per year for joining. The membership form is available on the home page of the website.

  3. Do I need a paddle and ball? 

    • Some members may have paddles that you can borrow. On beginner lesson nights, RAPA will have a supply of paddles to use. Paddles and balls are available for loan from our Sponsor, Old Abe’s Coffee, just down the street from the Cooke Park courts. Times are limited, so check Abe’s schedule for times.

  4. Do I have to be a member to play on RAPA scheduled times? 

    • Come and check us out on the courts. We encourage you to join, as play during the scheduled times is reserved for RAPA members.

  5. What ages play? 

    • Pickleball is a game for all ages and physical abilities. We have players from teens to 90+ !

  6. Where can I find training videos? 

    • There is a Videos area on the RAPA website where you can find videos on subjects ranging from getting started to strategy.

  7. Where do I go to play? 

    • RAPA, in association with Rochester Parks and Rec, has 6 new courts available at Cooke Park (722 7th St NW, Rochester, MN). There is also winter indoor play available at the Rochester Recreation Center.

  8. I am only going to be in Rochester a few days, are visitors welcome? 

  9. What skill levels are your members? 

    • Our members range from newbies (1.0) to advanced players (5.0).

Park and Rec Meeting

We provided an update on our progress in fund-raising which now stands at $1,750 raised from the 50x50 Club and our plan for securing corporate sponsorships. Park and Rec staff were extremely appreciative of the concerted efforts we are making to raise funds for our cause. Paul indicated
